For sale is a WWII US ARMY EASTERN DEFENSE COMMAND PATCH. This colorful embroidered patch is in great condition. The design of the patch includes three different colors (red, yellow, and blue) to represent the three different major components of the defense command (artillery, cavalry and infantry). The cross tridents over waves illustrates the command’s mission to defend the sea cost. The command was responsible for defending the US from attack before America entered WWII. A cool military collectible.

The Eastern Defense Command was first established as the Northeast Defense Command on 17 March 1941 as one of four U.S. Army continental defense commands to plan and prepare for and execute defense against enemy attack in the United States before America’s entry into World War II. Its mission was defined as: “a territorial agency with appropriate staff designed to coordinate or prepare to initiate the execution of all plans for the employment of Army Forces and installations against enemy action.” The Eastern Defense Command was charged with coordinating the defense of the Atlantic Coast.
