For sale is an original 1952 collection of Three different EISENHOWER PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN PINS & TAB. One pinback is an “I Like IKE” button and the other pinback is “IKE and DICK” button. I wonder if the campaign had the nerve to issue a “I Like DICK” button. Also include in the sale is an “IKE” metal tab. A great set of a political collectibles.
The 1952 United States presidential election ended with Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower winning on a landslide victory over Democrat Adlai Stevenson, which ended 20 years of Democratic rule that stretched back to 1932. Eisenhower retained his enormous popularity from the war, as was seen in his campaign slogan, “I Like Ike.” Eisenhower’s popularity and Truman’s unpopularity led to a Republican victory, with Eisenhower winning every state outside of the South. Ike’s ran with Richard Nixon as his running mate. Ike’s opponent, Adlai Stevenson’s running mate was John Sparkman.
