For sale is a rare vintage MARVEL HI-REV Penetrating Motor Tune-Up Can made by Emerol Manufacturing Co, 242 West 69th St, NY, NY. This rare pint size can probably dates to the 1940s. This lithographic can is in very good condition with no rust, holes or dents. The can’s graphics are vivid but there is minor surface scuffs. Can includes its original cap. The tin can stands about 6 in. tall. MARVEL HI-REV was a solvent to clean the sludge out of your car’s engine. You would add it with your cars oil and then drain the oil after the car was driven for 300 to 500 miles. A superior pertroliana collectible.
This manufacturing company also sold another more well known MARVEL engine product–Marvel Mystery Oil. Marvel Mystery Oil was developed in 1923. It is used as a fuel additive, oil additive, corrosion inhibitor, penetrating oil, and transmission leak stopper and seal relubricator. The MARVEL HIGH-REV can is much rarer than the Marvel Mystery Oil Can. These products have no connection to MARVEL comics.
