For sale is an original antique ATLANTIC MOTOR OIL CRATE from the Atlantic Refining Co. Philadelphia, Pa. This small wooden crate would have been used to ship 24 one lb cans. The crate is in excellent condition for its age with great graphics on one short side. Crate measures 16″ tall, 11 1/2″ wide, and 8″ deep. This petroliana collectible is the perfect size to display vintage oil cans.
Atlantic was founded as the Atlantic Petroleum Storage Company in 1866 in the then-fledgling oil business. In 1874, the company, now known as Atlantic Refining, was purchased by John D. Rockefeller and integrated as part of Standard Oil.
