For sale is an original 1940s era vintage TRIMO ADJUSTABLE 10″ PIPE WRENCH manufactured by the Trimont Manufacturing Company, Roxbury, Massachusetts. This patented wrench is in like new condition. Forged into the shank of this 10-inch Stillson-pattern pipe wrench is “Trimont Mfg Co” and “Roxbury Mass USA”. On the backside, the wrench is marked “Trimo Size 10” and “Drop Forged Pat’d”. The carrier shell is also stamped “Trimo Alloy”, and the movable jaw has “Cr Mol” forged in near the bend. The overall length is about 9 1/2 inches closed and 11 inches fully extended. The finish is plain steel. A great collectible vintage tool.
In 1888, the Trimont Manufacturing Company was founded in Roxbury, Massachusetts to make pipe wrenches, plumbing tools, and nut wrenches. In 1907, the company registered the “Trimo” trademark and started using it as the company’s primary brand. In 1911, inventor, J.H. Vinton, obtained a patent for this wrench (US patent number 1,012,037).
