Rare 1947 WWII 20th Air Force Illustrated History Book – “Over Japan”

For sale is a 1947 ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF 20TH AIR FORCE OVER JAPAN. This rare soft cover book is 82 pages in length was published by AAF Publications Company, Los Angeles, CA. This book is complete and in overall good condition. None of the pages are torn or written on but some of the pages have detached from the binding and some pages have bent corners. This rare book provides an illustrated history of the role of the 20th Air Force during WWII, which includes headquarters of the 20th in Gaum. Photos include portraits of key military generals, photos of air battles and bombing missions, photos regarding air and leisure activities in India, China, Saipan, Tinian, Guam, and Iwo Jima. Book also includes fascinating photos of captured Japanese aircraft. Book includes a section on The Atomic Bomb, its aircraft and crews, and the Japanese Surrender Ceremony aboard U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo Bay. This soft cover book measures 10 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. A great WWII collectible.
