For sale is a vintage SUNNY SUZY TOY KITCHEN SINK from the Wolverine Toy Company, Booneville, Arkansas. This lithographic toy is made of metal/tin in a bold yellow with orange and black. This toy was manufactured in the early 1970s. The toy sink is in great condition with minor surface wear consistent with its age. The front of the sink has a “automatic dishwasher” graphic. The orange water faucet is plastic. The sink measures about 11 inches long, 8 1/2 inches tall, and 11 inches deep. A great toy for kitchen décor or for child’s play.
In 1903, Benjamin Franklin Bain, who studied mechanics and engineering at the Michigan Agricultural College (which later became Michigan State University), founded the The Wolverine Supply and Manufacturing Company. In 1909, the company obtained the Sand Toy Company and its signature line, “Sandy Andy” tin toys, as the result of a bankruptcy settlement. Over the next several decades, Wolverine evolved into an exclusive manufacturer of toys, expanding the “Sandy Andy” toy line.
The Wolverine Supply and Manufacturing Company, later known as the Wolverine Toy Company, produced children’s toys for nearly seven decades from its factory on the North Side of Pittsburgh. In 1962, the company was renamed the Wolverine Toy Company. In 1971, the company relocated from Pittsburgh, PA to Arkansas.
