For sale is a vintage K&D DOUBLE SIDED WATCH MALLET from Kendick & Davis Company. This vintage watchmaker’s tool was made by a prominent American Toolmaker. This small hammer measures about 8 1/2 inches long. One side of the mallet has a brass head and the other side has a wooden head. A great collectible vintage tool.
In 1876, Frank Kendrick, a watchmaker, and Dr. W. F. Davis, a dentist, founded the Kendick & Davis Company in Lebanon, NH. The company’s original product was pocket watch keys for the early key-wind watches. Obviously the market for watch keys eventually went away, K&D became a designer and manufacturer of small electric motors. The company continued to manufacture very high quality watch tools and some other precision tools/equipment in Lebanon, NH until 1991.
