For sale is a VINTAGE GERMAN APOTHECARY CHEMIST BOTTLE from an unknown manufacturer. This empty amber apothecary bottle has a cork top and its original label. The label describes the bottle’s contents as “schwefelkohlenstoff” which translates to “carbon disulfide”. Since the bottle has a corked top it probably dates to the early 1900s. The bottle measures 4 inches high and 1 1/2 inches diameter.
Carbon disulfide is an inorganic compound. The chemical is a colorless, flammable, neurotoxic liquid that is used as a building block in organic synthesis.
