For sale is a vintage DORCO RAILROAD LANTERN Model 700 from Dorco Manufacturing Company, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. This aluminum body signaling lantern or flashlight is operated by a 6 volt carbon zinc battery. Lantern appears to be in good condition but is untested and may need a new battery and bulb to operate. The bottom of the base is marked “Dorco Mfg Inc – Model 700 – Ese Lamp 27 Only – Use 6 Volt Carbon Zinc Battery Only – Listed 149M Haz Loc – Class 1 Group D – Sturgeon Bay, Wis”. When the carry handle is fully extend the lantern measures about 11 inches tall from the base to the top of the handle. The diameter of the base is 5 1/2 inches. A unusual designed railroad lantern.
