For sale is a vintage AMMONIA BOTTLE with a BUFFALO AMMONIA LABEL from the American Bluing Company, Buffalo, NY. The bottle has a cork style top. The colorful label features a galloping bison. The bottom of the large amber glass bottle is marked with an “3” in the center and a “4” inside of a pentagon. The vintage label is not original to the vintage bottle. The bottle stands 13 1/2 inches tall and 5 3/4 inches diameter. A cool item for display with your vintage décor.
Buffalo Ammonia was manufactured by American Bluing Co., 56 and 58 Mulberry Street, Buffalo, New York. Bluing is a substance used in laundering to prevent white materials from turning yellow. American Bluing Co. also manufactured under the brands “American Condensed Blue” (makes clothes snow white) and “Bear Ammonia” and claimed that private label brands were their specialty.
