For sale is a mid-century PEOPLES DRUG STORE GIFT & SOUVENIR BOX from the Peoples Drug Store Incorporated. This empty worn decorative box has an elaborate illustration of a royal princess applying her cosmetics. The decorative box appears to have been more treasured than the child’s toy that would have been inside the box. Box measures 7 3/4 inches, by 5 1/8 inches, and 1 1/4 inches deep. A nice vintage box for display or use.
Peoples Drug was a chain of drugstores based in Alexandria, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. This chain of stores was founded in 1905. By 1930, it had 110 stores operating under the Peoples Drugs, Days Drug, and Shearer Drug names.
