Early 1900s DOULTON & CO LTD LAMBETH WHISKEY JUG – Colchester, England

For sale is an early 1900s antique GLAZED STONEWARE JAR WHISKEY JUG made by Doulton & Co Limited Lambeth London. This two tone brown over cream jar has the Doulton & Company trade mark on the side. The top of the jar is inscribed: “F.C. Winch & Co, (late E. Butler Boothes), wine & spirit merchants, 153 High St, Colchester”. This cork top jar is in overall excellent condition. Before plastics were invented, stoneware advertising jars from England were used between 1860s and 1920s to sell products such as marmalade, meat, cold cream, tooth paste, and beer. This jar measures 13 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches diameter. A stellar antique advertising stoneware for your vintage decor.
