For sale is an all original, authentic 1927 RCA Radiola 16 Radio Wood Case. This rare iconic American item dates back to when household entertainment consisted of AM radio. To use this radio, you would need a 70 ft antenna, an external battery set, and an external horn speaker. The radio measures 8 inches tall, 16 inches wide, and 7 inches deep.

This model was RCA’s last of the 1920’s conventional battery sets. It was very expensive and not a huge seller. Only a total 85,320 of these radios were ever made. By this time radios with battery sets were on their way out to be replaced by models powered by electricity. The original price for the radio was a staggering $69.50 and the tubes were
sold separately. Ouch. In 1927, you could buy a brand new Model T Ford for $360.

This unique collectible item works great as a display item for your vintage decor. The wood box has been repurposed as a hidden storage box for household keys or jewelry. The internal compartment has lots of posts for rings, hooks to hang stuff, and small and large indented tray.
