For sale is a vintage 1950s MARX WHISTLING GIRARD TRAIN STATION No. 2960 & ORGINAL BOX made by the Louis MARX toy company, NY, NY. This tin lithographic toy train station (O Scale) is in very good condition and looks great from all angles. The functionality of the whistle feature is untested. The iconic Marx logo can be found directly above the “GIRARD” station sign. The original box is in poor condition but the graphics are vivid and the instructions on the bottom of the box explain how to connect the station to your train setup. The toy stands about 9 inches long, 5 1/4 inches wide, and 5 1/2 inches tall. A great collectible Marx Toy.

Louis Marx founded the MARX toy company in 1919. By 1922, both Louis and his brother David Marx were millionaires. Unlike most companies, Marx’s revenues grew during the Great Depression. By the 1950s, Marx was the largest toy manufacturer in the world. Marx ceased its business in 1978.
