For sale is a 1948 U.S. GOVERNMENT MINK RAISING CIRCULAR No. 801 published by the Department of Agriculture. This illustrated government publication by Charles Kellogg, “acting in charge of Fur Investigations” from Beltsville, MD. This publication provides guidance on how to feed, care for, and breed minks. Keep in mind that this is a Department of Agriculture pamphlet so this 42-page leaflet also instructs you on how to harvest the pelts from your crop of minks. Page 36 which provides design dimensions for your “mink killing box” is a bit intense. If you find this disturbing, you probably so quit there before getting to the skinning section or the discussion of the finer points of different “fleshing poles”. The leaflet measures 9 inches by 6 inches. The pamphlet originally sold for 5 cents. A bizarre farming related collectible.
