For sale is a 1920s era STOVE KEROSENE CLEAR GLASS DRIP JUG from the Cleveland Metal Production Company. The clear glass jar is marked with two different patent dates: Nov 20, 1917 and April 8, 1919. This antique jar is in excellent condition. Embossed across the front is the following: “Patd. Nov. 20 1917- April 8 1919. – The Cleveland Metal Products Co. – Made in USA.” The jar also features a large, embossed triangle trademark. This kerosene jug measures about 9 inches tall and 7 inches diameter. A great item to display next to your vintage Perfection Heater.

Until about 1909, the predominant commercial end-use for petroleum was kerosene. Residential use of kerosene declined during the 1900s as electric lighting started displacing kerosene lamps. Perfection Kerosene Heaters or “lamp stoves” as they were initially called in 1884, were extremely common in American homes through the mid 1900s. They were regularly featured in magazine advertisements as a practical and decoratively pleasing heating solution.
