For sale is a 1870s MILLERS FALLS MULTI-TOOL with ROSEWOOD HANDLE from the Millers Falls Company, Millers Falls, Mass. Way before there was a Leatherman or Gerber multi-tool, Millers Falls innovated the multi-tool by using a hollow handle to store tool bits which serve a variety of functions. The tool’s chuck opens to accept the tool of your choice. This tool is marked with an January 14, 1868 patent date. This clever tool includes four different tool bits which includes a chisel, flat screw driver, and a pick. The tool without a bit measures about 6 1/2 inches long. A top notch collectible tool.

In 1868, Levi J. Gunn and Charles H. Amidon established the Gunn & Amidon company in Greenfield, Massachusetts. After the Greenfield factory burned down, the company was reorganized as the Millers Falls Manufacturing Co. In 1872, the company was renamed as the Millers Falls Company.
