For sale is an antique GREAT SEAL Imitation Maple Flavor BOTTLE made by the Styron Beggs Company, Newark Ohio. This is a new old stock unopened bottle. The label has edge wear and the label is taped. Vintage bottle stands 4 1/2 inches tall. According to the instructions, this bizarre product was used to add flavoring cold syrup. You add 1 teaspoon to a quart of cough syrup. So if you consume copious amounts of cough syrup, this bottle is for you.

Frank L. Beggs and John L. Styron started the Styron Beggs Company in Newark, Ohio in 1893. They manufactured flavorings and extracts, sewing machine oil, toothpaste, aspirin, cough syrup, veterinary insect powder, saccharin and other products they marketed under the “Great Seal” trade name.
