For sale is a mini PEARSON’S of CHESTERFIELD STONEWARE CROCK with a wooden top from England. This two-tone tan ceramic crock is in excellent condition but the rubber seal on the wood top has dried out and broken from age. This salt glazed stoneware stands about 3 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/8 inches diameter. A nice collectible English crock.
In 1810, Catherine Pearson founded Pearson & Company in Derbyshire to produce stoneware. The company grew during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, absorbing other potteries from time to time, and adapting its production to suit the needs of the period. As well as jars, jugs and other vessels, Pearsons have also made wares for industrial purposes.
