For sale is an original 1925 “DISEASES OF THE DOG & HOW TO FEED” Booklet written by H. Clay Glover, Veterinarian to the Westminster Kennel Club. This unusual booklet is full of illustrations of various dog breeds. This 30-page newsprint booklet is in very good condition but some of the pages are started to break free from the spine. The booklet has some frank advice about dog illness and its cause. For example, bad sanitary conditions, crowded or poorly drained kennels, insufficient or overfeeding, improper diet, lack of fresh air, and lack of exercise are all conducive to distemper. No worries because distemper can be treated with only a few days Glover’s Distemper Medicine. The best part of the booklet is at the end when Doctor Glover includes a treatment for Lady’s Scalp & Hair. You know this has to be one of his products for dogs when he thought you know a lady’s long hair and a dog’s main have more similarities than differences. The book measures about 7 inches by 4 1/4 inches. The back cover includes the following text: “Glover’s Imperial MANGE MEDICINE – The Great Medicine for scalp Diseases in Humans, Skin Diseases and Vermin in Dogs, Horses, Cattle, Sheep and Hogs”. A great collectible veterinarian book for your dog enthusiast.
