For sale is a vintage mid-century POND’S TALC POWDER TIN from the Pond’s Extract Company, NY. This lanolized tin has an interesting and whimsical decorative art work with a shaker top. This 3 3/4 ounce size tin still has most of its original contents. Tin stands about 5 1/2 inches tall. This original tin is in excellent condition and is a great advertising collectible.

Pond’s Cream was invented in the US as a patent medicine in 1846 by pharmacist Theron T. Pond of Utica, New York. He extracted a healing tea from witch hazel [which he discovered could heal small cuts and other ailments. The product was named “Golden Treasure.” After Theron died, it would be known as “Pond’s Extract.” By 1910, Pond’s was a well established brand among Americans that concentrated on cosmetic products.
