For sale is a fantastic vintage April 1953 back issue for a men’s magazine called “SIR, MAGAZINE FOR MEN”. This magazine was a pinup magazine with pulp or yellow journalism articles that “pushed the envelope” for the era. This magazine originally sold for 25 cents. The cover features French actress Edith Bru. Inside is also a pictorial of Edith Georges, a risqué performer in Paris musical revues. The magazine features historical vintage adds such as a belly massager to reduce fat. The articles are testosterone, over-the-top tales of masculinity. The bizarre articles include: “Why sex glands decay”; “Male Vice – England’s Disgrace”; and “Cleopatra’s Remarkable Love Life”. The magazine is in good condition with minor wear and no tears. The magazine is complete with all 82 pages. The spine is intact. This magazine was its National Inquirer or Sun tabloid of its days. Would display nicely in a frame. A great 1950s ephemera collectible.
