Antique QUALITY FAMILY HOUSEHOLD SCALE – Great Northern Mfg Company

For sale is an antique QUALITY FAMILY HOUSEHOLD SCALE from the Great Northern Manufacturing Company, Chicago, Illinois. This distinctive rustic scale was made to weigh up to 24 pounds by ounces. This spring scale functions as intended and the pointer can be readjusted back to zero. This old metal scale measures about 8 1/4 inches tall. The top square plate is 5 1/2 inches square. The round scale face measures 5 7/8 inches diameter. The bottom base measures about 8 3/4 inches deep by 6 inches across. This scale the original orange decals on both sides that read: “Great Northern Mfg Co Quality Brand – The World’s Best – Chicago, Ill USA”. Except for the area around the decal which is original paint, the remaining metal exterior of the scale has been repainted. This scale is rust free and looks great from all angles.  A great item for any vintage scale collector.
