For sale is a 1950s MARX WIND UP TIN DRIVING SCHOOL CAR. This working vintage toy is a nicely lithographed driving school car which appropriately includes graphic of a two-steering wheel car for dual control. The door of the car includes the iconic Marx logo. The large lettering on the car reads “Learn to Drive”, “Safe Driving School”, and a license late with the number 305. Even the underside of the toy car has great graphics. The car as a built-in wind key which works well. The overall condition of the car is very good but the car is missing its roof which is oddly appropriate for a student driving car. The toy car measures about 6 and 1/2 inches long. A terrific collectible Marx tin toy.

Louis Marx founded the MARX toy company in 1919. By 1922, both Louis and his brother David Marx were millionaires. Unlike most companies, Marx’s revenues grew during the Great Depression. By the 1950s, Marx was the largest toy manufacturer in the world. Marx ceased its business in 1978.
