For sale is a rare 1950s MARX FIRE CONTROL ANTI-AIRCRAFT UNIT No 12 FRICTION TOY made by the Louis MARX toy company. This military themed friction truck is in excellent condition with a few missing accessory pieces. The mounted water canon is metal and photos. The truck body is plastic. At two places on the truck are molded lettering for “Water Tank, 250 gal.” and “Life Vest”. Wheels are rubber and marked Louis Marx. The truck friction drive still winds and propels the truck for a small distance. The toy stands about 12 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide, and 6 inches tall. A great collectible Marx Toy.

Louis Marx founded the MARX toy company in 1919. By 1922, both Louis and his brother David Marx were millionaires. Unlike most companies, Marx’s revenues grew during the Great Depression. By the 1950s, Marx was the largest toy manufacturer in the world. Marx ceased its business in 1978.
