Attention all opera fans! For sale is an original 1945 BROADWAY OPERA PAYBILL for the Metropolitan Opera House performance of THE GOLDEN COCKEREL. This vintage 20-paged theater program for a WWII era opera performance originally sold for the sum of 35 cents. Front cover features the image of a beautiful woman playing a harp. This English language program contains the script for the performance. The back cover features an ad for Knabe Pianos. Program measures about 7″ wide by 10″ tall and is in very good condition with no rips or tears. A great collectible for any music or theater fan.

The Little Golden Cockerel is a Russian opera by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Its libretto, by Vladimir Belsky, derives from Alexander Pushkin’s 1834 poem: “The Fairy Tale of the Little Golden Cockerel”. The opera was completed in 1907 and premiered in 1909 in Moscow.
