For sale is a 1940s LISTERINE TOOTH POWDER TIN & ORIGINAL BOX from the Lambert Pharmacal Company, St. Louis, Missouri. This brightly colored lithographic tin is in excellent condition and stands about 5 1/8 inches tall. The text on the tin comments on the company’s more than 60 years of experience in oral hygiene. Since the company was formed in 1881, this text indicates the tin was manufactured during the 1940s. A nice vintage apothecary tin to display with your vintage shaving razor.

In 1881, Jordan W. Lambert founded the Lambert Pharmacal Company after licensing the Listerine formula. Listerine was originally marketed as a surgical antiseptic and named after Sir Joseph Lister, an English surgeon who pioneered antiseptic surgery. In 1955, the Lambert Pharmacal Company merged with the Warner Company to form the Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical Company.
