For sale is a framed RADIO PROMO PRINT featuring the MOYLAN SISTERS, the Cinderellas of Radio. This 1940 Christmas Wishes Photo was also advertisement for dog food which is why the print includes the dog RASCAL. The frame measures 12 inches by 10 inches. A great collectible from the golden age of radio.
The Moylan Sisters were a talented American child singing duo from the 1930s through the 1940s. Marianne and Peggy Joan Moylan were very popular singers despite their young age. The sisters were first featured on the radio program: The Horn and Hardart Children’s Hour in 1939, and were soon give their own 15-minute network show at ages 5 and 7. The sisters appeared in four short films, “The Backyard Broadcast” (1936), “Starlets” (1937); “Toyland Casino” (1938), and “Worlds Fair Junior” (1939). The Moylans are most often remembered for their Thrivo (dog food) jingle:
