For sale is a working 1938 MARX WINDUP LONE RANGER HI-YO SILVER ROPING HORSE with a roping lasso made by the Louis MARX toy company. This incredibly detailed lithographic wind up toy is in excellent condition. When wound the lasso spins around and the horse also circles slower than the lasso. The toy stands about 7 1/2 inches tall when silver is on its hind legs. The horse measures about 8 inches long from tip of the tail to the horse’s nose. A first rate rare collectible Marx Tin Toy.

Louis Marx founded the MARX toy company in 1919. By 1922, both Louis and his brother David Marx were millionaires. Unlike most companies, Marx’s revenues grew during the Great Depression. By the 1950s, Marx was the largest toy manufacturer in the world. Marx ceased its business in 1978.
