Some historians view Cracker Jack as the first junk food. Cracker Jack was first sold back in 1896 and marketed with the slogan: “The More You Eat, the More You Want”. In 1907, the release of the song, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”, gave Cracker Jack free publicity, with its line: “Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack!” In 1912, Cracker Jack started putting its novelty prizes in its candy. In 1922, the sold Cracker Jacks, the Rueckheim Bros. & Eckstein company, was changed their name to The Cracker Jack Company.
