For sale is an original 1929 “POLK MILLER’S DOG BOOK” from Polk Miller Products Corporation, Richmond, VA. This 48-page illustrated booklet promotes medicine and treatment for dog ailments. The book is dedicated to the late Mr. Polk Miller, who was the founder of Sergeant Dog Medicines. The book cover features a color illustration of tired boy leaning against his enormous guard dog to advertise Sergeant’s Dog Food whose motto was “We Guarantee Your Dog Will Eat It”. The book is complete and in excellent condition. The pages are not written upon but pages have some light staining and age appropriate yellowing or discoloration. The describes the symptoms and treatment for distemper, worms, tape worm, weakness, mange, ear canker, black tongue, eye troubles, coughs, rheumatism, indigestion, diarrhoea, fits, running fits, constipation, and harvest bugs. The book measures about 6 1/2 inches by 4 1/2 inches. A great collectible veterinarian booklet.
