For sale is a vintage PYRAMID BRAND STRAIGHT EDGE RAZOR made by Geneva Cutlery Corporation, Geneva, NY. This 5/8 inch blade has the pyramid logo brand on the tang. On the inside of the pyramid has a “7” inside it. The straight razor is about 6 1/4 inches in length closed or 9 1/2 inches open. The Bakelite handle and razor blade is in very good condition. A nice collectible shaving razor.

A straight razor is a razor with a blade that can fold into its handle. Straight edge razors are also called open razors and cut-throat razors.

In 1815, Phineas Prouty Sr. and his brother, John, founded a hardware store in Schenectady. Phineas Prouty also had a cutlery business. By the 1820s, Prouty moved to Geneva where he continued his hardware and cutlery business. By 1912, the company was the largest US manufacturer of razors. In 1928, firm reorganized as Geneva Cutlery Inc. The razor for sale predates 1928.
