For sale is a vintage CASTELLO FENCING MASK. Castello is America’s oldest and largest manufacturer of fencing equipment. This original sporting equipment is in great condition. A previous owner’s name, G. Aubrey, is written on the inside of the mask. The mask has a metal frame, metal mesh cover, leather trim, canvas chin pads, and canvas neck guard. The mask measures about 9 1/2 inches tall (not including neck guard), by 7 1/2 inches wide, and 6 inches deep. Take your COVID masking to the next level. Julio Martinez Castello was a Spanish fencing master born in 1882. In 1914, he founded the Castello Fencing Equipment Company in New York. The company produced a diverse line of French, Belgian, American, Spanish and Italian foils, epees and sabres as well as accouterments and protective equipment. His sons Hugo and James continued the company until 1962. Hugo Castello is credited with instructing Bruce Lee in fencing.
