For sale is a 1950s era HAND CRANK MOULI STEEL DRUM PARMESAN CHEESE GRATER with a wooden handle from the French Company, Moulinex. This vintage kitchen tool is marked with several patent numbers, the most recent of which was filed in 1952. Overall this grater is in fair condition. The grater turns and functions as intended. The cheese grater measures about 7 1/2 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide. A nice additional to your vintage kitchen decor.
Jean Mantelet was a French inventor and industrialist who founded the kitchen appliance company Moulinex. He vowed to free women from cooking chores and started by inventing a potato mashing machine. The masher proved an instant hit and in 1932, he founded the company Moulinex which became one of the world’s most successful household appliance companies with sales of $1 billion a year and 12,000 employees. He coined the slogan “Moulinex frees women”.
