The meet featured a wide array of track and field events, including pole vault, high jump, sprints, hurdles, 600-yard, and 1,000-yard runs, the mile, and the two-mile. It was one of the United States’ premier indoor track and field meets, held annually for almost 30 years.
The Chicago Stadium opened in 1929 was known as the “Madhouse on Madison” and was a legendary venue for Chicago sports, particularly for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bulls.. In 1995, the stadium was demolished.
