For sale is an original 1944 BRITISH AMERICAN HOTEL LETTERHEAD, Kingston, Ontario. The letter has the hotel logo at the top and broadly boasts there’s “running water in every room”. The letter is a note home from a vacationing husband and wife to let the folks back home that all is well in Canada. An uncommon ephemera collectible.

The British American Hotel was built in 1791 and was the oldest hostelry in Kingston. When it was built, the hotel was known as the Royce Inn. In 1808, the hotel was renamed as the Walker House. In 1846, it was renamed the Kent House which continued until the year 1866 when the name was changed to the British American Hotel.
