Frostie Root Beer is a brand of root beer sold in the U.S. Frostie was originally produced in 1939 by The Frostie Beverage Company of Catonsville, Maryland, owned by George Rackensperger. George opened his own soda bottling plant in a suburb located outside of Baltimore by renting an abandoned jailhouse. He started his bottling producing operation in the garage area that used to be used for police wagons. This sole bottling plant of The Frostie Company supplied all of the soda demand for Frostie Root Beer until demand increased beyond the capabilities of this plant.
